European Tour on the Double

October 5, 2010

So I’ve finally managed to get our travel photos organized and ready to share with you … quite a project since we shot over 1200.  Don’t worry, I’ll only bore you with the best ones. :)

Orion and I had two and a half weeks of travel time and managed to squeeze in seven countries. Somehow that seemed reasonable during the planning stage but turned out to be a break neck pace.  More like interviewing each place rather than really getting to know it.  But for next time, we know our top spots: The Leopold Museum and National treasury in Vienna, the rivers and mountains of Bled, and Opera in a dilapidated Venetian palace, and Band of Horses live at Malmo Fest in Sweden.  Kinda a surprise since I expected Prague and Budapest to be my top picks.

Here are some of my favorites with pictures! Stop by my flickr to see a bunch more.

Copenhagen:

City street

La Louisiana Museum: We're floating on a raft surrounded by blinking lights.

Prague Castle:

Amazing Door Knob.

Cesky Krumlov Castle:

Vienna:

The Egon Schiele collection at the Leopold Museum made me very very happy!

Austrian crown jewels & reliquaries in Vienna's National Treasury.

Bled, Slovenia in the Julian Apls

Accidental Chuck Norris - I blame altitude and beer.

Socha River. It really is that blue.

Venice:

All canals lead to San Marco
